Description

Thelypteris normalis) The robust Thelypteris kunthii is one of our favorite Southeast US native ferns and certainly one of the most durable ferns we grow

Beginning in late summer and continuing through fall

taken before the flowers begin to open

These spent stems will most often remain alive for the rest of the growing season

if you're growing something labeled "Amaryllis belladonna" north of Zone 8

Liatris microcephala North Carolina Native Plants Thelypteris normalis) The robust ThelypterisThis drought tolerant native blazing star from rocky outcrops in the southern Appalachian mountains is one of the best in the genus, but surprisingly is still not common in the trade. The rosette produces up to 2 dozen stalks, clothed in very fine grassy foliage. The flowers that top the stalk are the typical rosy purple, and are produced in the heat of summer great for summer arrangements and hummingbird viewing.
